Backyard

This weekend the weather was absolutely beautiful! I spent some time outside relaxing and reading. Since the bench on our deck now only has two legs rather than the typical four, it isn't functional at all. So I brought out some old pillows and just leaned up against the railing. Here's the view.

Upon closer look, here's some things you may notice about our backyard:
  • The yellow pot in the foreground includes some dirt and weeds. There's some basil seeds down in there somewhere that just didn't do their thing. I'll try again next year.
  • Camden. He loves to be outside! At this moment he was watching a squirrel in the tree.
  • The tree stump bird bath (to the right of the dog) was here when we moved in. Haven't changed a thing, the old yellow tub is still in there. It's fun to watch the birds playing when the dog isn't out there to chase them away.
  • Back there in the back ground, our favorite place to eat out - the stone fire pit. We love to grill over the fire - and get rid of all the fallen tree limbs and sticks at the same time.
  • Further to the left in the background is a big chunk of concrete with a pole. We left the bird bath when we moved in but removed the ugly license-plate bird house right away. Still haven't disposed of the huge concrete base.
  • Back in the corner, and hidden a bit by the top rail is a raspberry patch. Also here when we moved in, we kind of ignored it the first summer (to be exact, the dog chewed all the vines to the ground, thorns and all). But after a small harvest last year we started taking care of them. Looks like we'll be enjoying tons of raspberries this year!! MMM, I love raspberries!

Here's a few other things from our yard.

Roses

Veggies! Lettuce and beans
And another one of the dog for fun.
