Friday Five - Wrapping

This weeks FridayFive is about gift wrapping. I LOVE wrapping presents!

How seriously do you take gift-wrapping when you give gifts?
I like to wrap. I usually don't combine gifts so I have more to wrap.
AND... I've started folding in the edges before taping so there are nice smooth edges.
Do you save gift-wrapping to re-use later?
Absolutely
How picky are you when it comes to selecting wrapping paper?
I go for the cheapest decent looking stuff. Yea, it's the kind that so thin it will rip at the corner if you try to pull it tight around the box. So, not picky I guess.
How much attention do you pay to the way gifts you receive are wrapped?
Really, not a lot - other than noticing if there is overkill on the tape.
Among people you know, who is the most talented at wrapping gifts?
Answer unknown at this time.

Friday Five - Book Titles

Here's another fun one. (I have a feeling my answers will be somewhat nonsensical. Is that a word?)
From Friday5: "Each of this week’s questions is the title (modified, in a couple of cases) of a well-known book."

What color is your parachute?
A mixture of periwinkle - because I like to say that word and Creek Bend - because that's the name of the awesome paint color in our guest room. Or is it River Bottom? Whatever the name I really like the color.
Who moved your cheese?
Waldo
Where’s Waldo?
In my fridge
Are you my mother?
No tengo niƱos.
What’s happening to your body?
If you really want to know.... -Um, I've never actually heard of this book.

And there you have it. Random answers to bookish questions.

PS The only book that I actually know anything about it "Where's Waldo". I've heard of most of the others, but don't know much about them.

Friday Five

This weeks Friday5 topic - What's it take.

What does it take to get you to grab the mic and sing in a karaoke room?
Depends on who's in the room.

What does it take to get you to give up a whole Saturday to hang out with people you don’t like?
Strange question but the answer: Probably as simple as someone I do like being there.

What does it take to get you out of bed without your hitting the snooze button?
Daylight! Love to wake up when the sun comes up! I'm not a fan of winter's morning darkness.

What does it take to get you to take someone else’s turn at a really unpleasant task at work or home?
Not much, I like to help out. As long as I don't have to do it all the time. :)

What does it take to get you to eat something you really dislike?
I have to try it every 3-5 years to make sure I still don't like it. So as long as I haven't tried it recently, I'd eat it ...just a bite ... okay, a really tiny bite. (PS. I still don't like corn. Tried it.)

Friday Five - Bottles

When did you last drink something out of a glass bottle?
I don't remember. Maybe a Fanta in Spain.
I do have two old glass pop bottles (Dr Pepper & 7-up) retrieved from my husband's grandpa old chicken coop. I don't think the chickens drank pop - rather some kids probably used it as a club house years ago.

Whose energy would you like to bottle for those future listless days?
My aunt bikes most everyday. I defintely would like to bottle of some that energy and motivation.

How many plastic bottles are there in your shower, and what’s in them?
Oh my gosh - too many. :-) There are 3 shampoo bottles, 2 conditioner, 1 body wash, 3 face washes for a total of 9. Plus a tube of toothpaste and a non-plastic conatiner of shave gel.

Who in your life could be described as lightning in a bottle?
Not sure what "lightening in a bottle" looks like personified. Give me a mintue to Google... okay, that didn't help. I'm going to have to pass on this one.

You’re playing Spin-the-Bottle with your sixth-grade classmates. When it’s your turn, to whom do you want the bottle pointing?
Haha, in 6th grade I had a crush on a guy named Jason. But we never would have been at the same party.

Friday 5: Ugly...?

Really? What an interesting topic, eh?
Nope, I haven't been to Canada this year.
Here I go...

What’s so ugly it’s kind of cute?
Geez, I don't know... This?

The "ugly dress" I got during Girls Weekend. See bottom photos here.

What’s the ugliest car on the streets today?
Let me go look... I'll have to get back to you.

Under what circumstances are you most likely to whip out your ugliest behavior?
Late at night when I'm tired.

Which of the United States of America has the ugliest shape?
West Virginia

Friday 5

I found this fun website this week. Friday5 posts 5 questions each Friday for anyone to answer. This week's happens to be based on Taboo - a game on my list of top 5 board games!

Your task is simply to answer these five questions without using any of the Taboo words or phrases. Challenge yourself not just to avoid using the words, but to think of fresh, new answers to these sort of cliched meme questions!

Who’s making a positive difference in your life?
Taboo words: friends, family, husband/wife/spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend.
~ Other than the obvious "the Lord"? Ok, this one is kind of out there. Someone I knew in college has a blog about politics and it's making me more interested and aware of the nation's government. I think that's a positive thing...

Where would you like to be right now?
Taboo words: home, bed, anywhere but here.
~Outside. In a kayak.

What’s the first thing you’d do with a $5,000 (or your local equivalent) gift?
Taboo words: save, debt, vacation, payments, invest.
~Oh my goodness - I don't know. Umm... buy a plane ticket to LA to visit a friend (because that's the mood I'm in right now.)

What super-power would you really like to have?
Taboo words: invisibility, x-ray vision, flying, strength, transform.
~To beam myself places. I'm not a fan of the journey, I'd much rather just be there already.

What’s your favorite sound?
Taboo words: laughter, music, ocean, wind, ____’s voice.
~Thunderstorms!! Love 'em!
